The Background:
Based in Preston, Lancashire working as part of a small team delivering a specialist Global Mobility policy advisory and administration service to this organisations internal assignee population and other customers, transferring UK employees overseas on a range of assignment contracts and remuneration packages.
The team provide a range of pre-expatriation, in-country support and repatriation services to the employee supporting the whole assignment life cycle. The team also provide support to inbound assignees from North American and Australia on assignment to the UK.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Prime interface to one or more large businesses (or other customer group), requiring regular interaction with key decision makers within Corporate and Local HR (both within the UK and overseas) and line managers
Provision of specialist global mobility support and advice to the organisations (or other customer group) management on costing and legal and taxation implications of potential assignments to locations globally
Provision of: guidance on complex matters and supports the continued improvement of the customer’s International Assignment Policy.
Preparation and briefing of specialist (often one off) contracts and overseas remuneration packages to potential secondees and their line managers
Evaluation, review and implementation of changes to assignment policies / procedures in line with developments in global mobility
Ensuring that the Company and individual are tax compliant in both the overseas location and the UK
Maintenance and application of external market best practice knowledge of developments of trends in global mobility
Range of support to the individual whilst in the overseas location and facilitating return to the UK at the end of the assignment
Will be expected to lead and manage projects which impact the wider IA team
Responsibility for leading on key processes internally within the IA team
The Person:
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within the field of international assignments, either global mobility or expatriate management. You will be well organised, a strong communicator, have a thirst for knowledge and self-development and possess good interpersonal skills as you will be dealing with expatriates and senior managers on a day-to-day basis.
