Employee Relations & Policy Advisor
Swim are looking to recruit a Employee Relations and Policy Advisor in the Human Resources based in Bedford. This is a permanent, full time position.
Your job will include the following responsibilities:
*Provide a professional customer focussed HR service and support the Employee Relations & Policy HR Manager to ensure best practice development of coherent, integrated and deliverable strategies and policies
*Research, review, develop, communicate and implement the organisation wide HR policies and procedures (non Schools and Schools policies) ensuring that legislation is correctly interpreted, and that on implementation, appropriate training, support and communication is provided.
*Provide advice to employees, managers and HR professionals on interpretation of employment legislation and case law, HR policies and procedure, and on equalities issues as required.
*Keep up to date with legislative changes, case law current trends and HR best practice and identify actions that are required and provide regular updates to the HR team as appropriate.
*Liaise with all relevant stakeholders to organise and coordinate the agendas and supporting papers for a range of consultation and negotiating forums, and provide and circulate subsequent minutes.
*Provide HR Managers and management with the appropriate frameworks and tools to enhance line manager people management responsibility and accountability.
You must have the following experience:
*Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary HR environment.
*Demonstrable experience of providing professional HR advice to a range of customers in respect of the interpretation of HR policy/ procedures or employee relations case work.
*Experience of managing a diverse and heavy workload with tight deadlines.
*Experience of researching and drafting HR policies and procedures.
*Working knowledge of a wide range HR policies, practices and current employment legislation including Employment, Data Protection and Equal Opportunities legislation.
*Experience of local authority working.
*Experience of working and forming relationships with Trade Unions/Professional Associations.
You will need the following qualifications:
*Educated to A Level standard or equivalent e.g. NVQ level 3/4.
*Evidence of commitment to continuous professional development.
*Studying towards CIPD qualification or commitment to train
