Introduction:
Our client is currently looking to employ an Office Orderly to join their professional team. The successful candidate will provide a high level of support in the day-to-day administration of our client's office. This position will require some travel to my clients' residences in the UK.
Responsibilities:
- General office duties such as ordering, receiving, storing and issuing all stationery items, checking invoices.
- Ensure all office stationery cupboard/stores are fully stocked on a weekly basis.
- Ensure all office kitchens are fully stocked with tea and coffee provisions on a weekly basis.
- Collect mail from the post room and deliver to relevant departments.
- Carry out basic maintenance duties on office equipment such as empty and oil shredders, change toner cartridges on photocopiers.
- Undertake administration for and maintenance of the office bicycles and equipment.
- Assist with the management of mobile communications and pagers.
- Assist with Office parties as required.
- Assist with events as required.
- Cover reception in absence of Receptionists.
- Driving and courier duties as required.
- Arrange the re-fuelling and cleaning of office vehicles.
- Any other duties as requested commensurate with the post.
- Comply with all health and safety rules and regulations ensuring own and others' health and safety at all times.
Applicant Requirements:
Essential:
- Car Driver - clean licence.
- Flexible in approach to hours worked and duties carried out.
- Ability to lift heavy items.
- Cheerful disposition.
- Ability to work with a wide range of people.
- Team player.
- Ability to use initiative and be self motivated.
- Tactful, courteous and discreet.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and to be patient.
- Proven good communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work away from London for up to 2 weeks at a time (maybe twice or three times a year)
Desirable:
- Motorcycle licence.
- Services background (Army, Royal Air Force, Royal Navy).
- Army staff car course together with appropriate experience.
- Advanced driving qualification.
- Live locally.
- Experience of stores and invoice procedures.
