Description Senior Planner / Construction Planner

An international major contractor is offering a fantastic opportunity for a Planner (Planning Engineer) living in the West Sussex area, to be based on various building projects in the South. The initial project will be the construction of a £60m data centre in Crawley.

Client

My client is a world leader in construction with £2bn worth of project wins in the last 12 months. With over 100 years experience in the construction sector, and with large-scale projects ranging from hotel and industrial building work to governmental, sport and leisure projects, my client is clearly an industry leader.

Role

A Planner (Senior level ideally) is required to initially be involved in the construction of a £60m data centre in Crawley. Upon successful completion of the project, you will be involved in a variety of prestigious projects throughout the South, including leisure, commercial and residential building schemes in Crawley, Portsmouth, Brighton and Tunbridge Wells.

The successful applicant will be involved in the project from inception through to completion and will be required to oversee the production of detailed project plans and the steady progress of the scheme. Other duties will include liaising with senior management and clients, monthly reporting and dealing with subcontractors, etc.

Ideally the successful candidate will have the following:

- Significant experience of Planning on major construction projects.
- Must have previous exposure to working on projects valued at £40m+.
- Previous experience of working on the building of a data centre would be advantageous for the initial project.
- Proficient with Asta PowerProject software.
- A relevant degree would be advantageous (although not essential).
- Excellent communication skills and previous experience of dealing with subcontractors, etc.

Remuneration

In return, you will be offered a market-leading salary of up to £52,000 per annum plus benefits (although this is dependent upon years experience) plus:
