To assist the Senior Surveyor or other defined line manager in the running of a cost consultancy team and subsequent achievement of project and business goals. The requirement is for a QS to support the Divisional Manager in the day to day management of the Civils and Highways sector of the business. � Act in accordance with the project leaders instructions � Take part in contract reviews relating to the contract with the customer � Assist in the preparation of monthly management reports � Assist in securing new and repeat business in line with the sub-divisional budget � Comply with QES system and Group/Unit directives � Assist with the preparation of estimates and cost plans in line with the brief � Assist with the provision of financial advice including the impact of inflation � Assist in the preparation of advise on contract procurement � Assist in the development of programmes for the delivery of our services � Assist with the preparation of standard documentation � reports, valuations, letters, financial statements etc � Assist with the preparation of tender documents as required by procurement choice (including Bills of Quantities) � The analysis of tenders and preparing tender reports at all stages of procurement � Assist with the preparation of valuations and financial statements; re-measure as necessary and adjust variations � Assist in the settlement of construction disputes and prepare and agree final accounts � Assist with the production of lessons learned report for post contract review � Attendance at design team and progress meetings as necessary � Other duties as may reasonably be required Candidate specification Academic, professional qualifications and Experience BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar level degree or vocational qualification Ideally chartered Previous QS employment with quantity surveying experience in Highways and Civils sectors Flexible with travel Willing to go through the governments security process and gain a suitable level of clearance Essential Competencies/Skills Technical awareness and able to work with some support to deliver all pre and post contract service delivery.
