Quantity Surveyor

Our East Midlands based client currently requires a Quantity Surveyor in the Leicestershire/Nottinghamshire/Warwickshire region to be involved with Local Authority projects and ensure the work is carried out to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will have Design & Build scheme experience.

The Role

To manage the income of the Company on contracts allocated to you and to increase profits by good management and surveying procedures.

Key Accountable Areas:

1 PROFIT
1.1 Control Profit Forecasts.
1.2 Hit targets.
1.3 Reconcile costs / values.
1.4 Provide feedback on deviation from Cost Bill.
1.5 Control all expenditure

2 VALUATIONS / FINANCE
2.1 Compile valuations with PQS.
2.2 Record and price variations.
2.3 Maximise external valuations and fully recover income of Company.
2.4 Prepare internal valuations to determine accurate cost reports.
2.5 Measure all works accurately.
2.6 Prepare and accurately forecast Final Accounts.

3 SUB-CONTRACT CONTROL
3.1 Accurately value sub-contract works.
3.2 Prepare sub-contractor liability statements.
3.3 Ensure compliance with sub-contract conditions.
3.4 Minute sub-contract site meetings.
3.5 Agree sub-contract final accounts.
3.6 Recover any losses.

This position requires a person who is:

· Methodical and meticulous in approach
· Technically minded and possess a high degree of numerical ability
· An effective communicator and a good team player, ideally with leadership potential.
· Conscientious and has a self-disciplined approach,
· A proven commercial track record
· High level negotiation skills and commercial acumen
· A degree in Quantity Surveying (or working towards) will be an advantage.
