Position: Technical Consultant
Location: Westminster, London
Salary: £40-£50k

ROLE:
The Technical Consultant will manage and deliver the BCIS Rebuilding Cost Online service and derivatives providing improved services to existing customers, expanding the market for existing services and developing new services and consultancy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Maintenance and development of existing services and products.
b) Maintenance and development of cost models.
c) Development of new services and products.
d) Development of consultancy services.
e) Delivery of above to be on time and within budget.
f) Provide advice and guidance to clients and customers.
g) Engage with existing clients and subscribers.
h) Develop networking with the government and other organisations in the housebuilding sector.
i) Increase income from the sector by improving and promote existing services and developing new services.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Chartered Quantity Surveyor ideally.
b) You must have relevant experience undertaking the full range of quantity surveying/ estimating duties.
c) Sound knowledge of the construction industry.
d) Ability to plan and implement projects with an aptitude for words and figures.
e) Good presentation and verbal communication skills.
f) Robust Excel and Microsoft Word skills.
DESIRABLE SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) Experience in early cost advice, cost modelling, cost planning, cost analyses, life-cycle costing, trend data, industry developments and forecasting within a computerised environment.
b) Experience in housebuilding.
c) Knowledge of Microsoft Access.
