Structural Engineer

The Client

Our client is a fully integrated building envelope contractor specialising in? the design, manufacture, fabrication, supply and erection of structural steelwork, roofing, cladding and integrated facades. There ability to combine the operations of Structural Steel, Roofing and Cladding provides them with the ability to offer there clients the unique solution of a one-stop shop for building structures and envelope requirements. With many years experience in the built environment they have been involved with a wide range of steel structures, including large-scale industrial units, multi-storey office blocks and car parks, retail shopping centres, airport terminal buildings, aircraft hangers, sporting arenas, bridgework and a host of other structures. Projects have included elements such as the design, fabrication and erection of structural steel frame, roof and wall cladding systems, glazing and doors.

The Opportunity

As a result of continued growth we are looking for a Structural Engineer who is passionate about design, you will be working for the group on a variety of predominantly steel framed structures. You will need to demonstrate a 'thorough' understanding of structural form, you will be confident, commercial, authoritive, have good presentation skills and must have experience of structural analysis and be able to design structural steelwork and its connections.

Responsibilities

1.Structural Analysis.
2.Produce full structural designs and submittals to appropriate British standards which acknowledge fabrication and erection issues.
3.Produce scheme, concept and estimate designs to British and other standards.
4.Design erection schemes.
5.Report program status at appropriate frequency.
6.Liaise with clients, engineers and architects to achieve appropriate designs
7.Liaise with all relevant internal and external customers
8.Attend design team meetings
9.Assist with product research, design and development where appropriate
10.Provide design engineering input to draughtsman and estimators on a day to day basis
11.Checking and review of engineering designs
12.Implement the company QA procedure in relation to these activities
13.Assist with the introduction of Euro Codes within the Steelwork Division over the next few years
