M & E Cost Consultant

M & E Cost Consultant - London - up to £40K

Our client is a leading global built asset consultancy. They are currently recruiting for a Project M&E Cost Consultant to work on a range of high profile property sector projects across London. These challenging schemes will be delivered for leading commercial and high end residential developers. Applicants will be expected to have appropriately aligned delivery experience.

Job Role:

We are looking for a market facing individual to support M&E cost management delivery for both the commercial and residential sectors. This person will assist in delivering service excellence in the delivery of M&E for commercial offices and residential.
The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering and supporting managers in achieving service excellence and positive outcomes for our clients; providing leadership and coaching to subordinate surveyors and assistants; capturing and sharing knowledge and driving innovation in service. Successful candidates will be presented with a great opportunity for career progression whilst at the same time being exposed to cross sector experience.

Whilst being a London based role initially, opportunities will, of course, exist to gain international experience as part of a broader career development plan.

Responsibilities:

Provide support to the Team Leader / Service Leaders/Senior M&E Cost Consultants in Client interface, in delivering large sized projects, and professional assignments, in new build, refurbishment or live operating business environments.
Work collaboratively with other Senior M&E Quantity Surveyors to manage related issues on the multi-disciplinary projects and liaison with key stakeholders.
Utilise and embed established tools and processes plus development of these documents to suit particular project requirements and Client's operation principles. Additionally, proactively develop service excellence including the utilisation of technology to support our delivery.
Demonstrate strong personal presence at all stages of the project lifecycle including actively seeking feedback to develop our service excellence.
Deliver projects within the framework of risk, sustainability and environmental considerations agreed at the business case / client brief stage, while also maintaining and exceeding time, cost and quality critical success factors.
Deliver services utilising the best in class tools identified by the Heads of Service as control and review mechanisms.
Work with client stakeholders and operational team to deliver project solutions that support the operational model.
Utilise Engineering Services Sector Specific Market, Client and Built Asset knowledge (Insight).

Skills / Experience Required:

Candidate to be able to demonstrate successful delivery of medium to large Engineering Services projects in the Commercial and Private Residential Sectors (specific London experience would be advantageous).
Good understanding of Engineering Services and systems both mechanical and electrical.
Competence in management of cost planning and cost modelling and pre-contract Quantity Surveying Services.
Competence in management of managing design team outputs to 'should cost' parameters.
Demonstrable understanding of the Client's key objectives within the Sector and specific challenges.
Ability to build Sustainable client relationships as trusted advisor.
High quality verbal and written communications (reports, instructions).

Essential:

Proven track record of working with London Developers with relevant experience
Recognised qualification in an Engineering Services discipline
