Description		Job DetailsPurchasing Supervisor Job Location: Buckingham Buckinghamshire MK Salary: �22,000 - �25,000 per annum, negotiable Permanent Main Function of the Job The main function of the job is to ensure that all customer order requirements are met in the timeframe promised. The job involves a great deal of forecasting of sales activity and active liaison with all suppliers to ensure that requirements are met. Main Duties � Update and forecast stock usage on a weekly basis � Review stock levels and make adjustments to ordering controls as necessary � Ensure requirements to both stock and timing are met on customer order rollouts � Monitor stock which are running low and promote the use of substitute items � Actively minimize the possible levels of dead stock � Active negotiation with suppliers when the need arises � Control item record accuracy and completeness � Authorisation of supplier invoices � Arrange the imports of products from European Suppliers � Prioritize items which are ready for shipment at suppliers� factories prior to them being shipped � Monitor manufacturers production to ensure it is meeting all of our forecast requirements � Oversee the generation of completed orders � Liaise with the Warehouse, Parts and Workshop departments to ensure that targets concerning the handling of inventory are being met � Negotiate buffer stock holding with supplier and liase with suppliers regarding stock held at their premises � Collate and report monthly figures to Senior Managers � Complete monthly presentations updating other managers on all aspects of purchasing � Manage Purchasing Assistant as required � In addition to these duties the employee is required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required Qualifications and Experience Requirements � The successful applicant will be well educated to an intermediate level through The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS). � A high level of experience dealing with statistical information is necessary. � Applicants must have at least 5 years minimum experience working in a purchasing environment which would have encompass negotiation with suppliers. � Good excel skills is required. � Applicants should be fully conversant with Microsoft Word and Outlook. � Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential. � The successful candidate would demonstrate excellent problem solving skills and the ability to manage their time effectively. � Experience working in a Stock or Inventory background would be an advantage. Salary up to �25k depending on experience plus all other associated benefits.
