Description		Our client, a well known food science laboratory requires an experienced liaison and quality manager to lead their customer service team in High Wycombe Purpose To manage the Technical Liaison team, that forms the link between the microbiology laboratory and its customers. To ensure that the microbiological testing facility maintains the quality standards as required for ISO17025 accreditation and demanded for all Customers. Key Accountabilities Food Safety & Quality Management: Co-ordinates effective microbiological specification systems through the customer protocol system. Works with the team to ensure accurate implementation and maintenance of agreed standards (ISO 17025 and specific customer requirements). Measures, evaluates and proposes continuous improvements on quality management systems. Is aware of and acts on new standards / customer requirements. Compliance: Recognises and reacts to potential risks to the quality system. Deals with day to day customer requirements for information and technical advice. Examines microbiological data and advises on trends and corrective actions. Applies control measures and decides if expert input is required. Monitors and ensures delivery of quality standards. Proposes ways of improving standards and compliance. Examines all data relating to specific customers. Interprets trends and data, advising on corrective action strategies. Manage customer requirements for information and technical advice. Product & Raw Material Expertise: Identifies and communicates material non-conformance and implements corrective action. Understands the role of materials and equipment in the manufacturing process with regards to microbiological food safety. Data and Knowledge Management: Reports and trends on gathered data, creating IT based solutions where applicable. Gives advice based on existing generated data and knowledge. Performs data trending where applicable. Staff Responsibilities Customer service and QA team (2 people) Key Contacts Internal, inter-company and external key personnel whom the jobholder will need to interact with Company Microbiologist Laboratory Manager Microbiology Team Food Quality and Safety Team Premier Foods Group Companies External Customers UKAS Essential: Minimum 2 years experience in food microbiology and quality systems Science Honours Degree/HND/HNC Training in and application of ISO 17025 Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMs) People management Financial awareness Good written and oral communication skills Eye for detail Team worker Flexibility of work hours. Desirable: Auditing Industrial Food Microbiology Food Safety Legislation.
