Description		Position:Packaging Technologist Location:North West Salary: 28 � 30k My client is a global personal care brand with several instantly recognisable brands in their portfolio. Responsibilities �In partnership with Packaging and Artwork development managers, identify early during the projects (NPD/EPD/Maintenance/Cost-effectiveness) any critical validation step where tests/measurements/trials can be required, and plan activities accordingly �Identify and consolidate (in partnership with Packaging and Artwork development managers) the optimal partners for the validation activities, with particular focus on establishing robust partnership with a roster of repro/printing suppliers �Provide support to Packaging Development manager in organising and running transportation and filling trials as required within projects �Provide support to Packaging Development manager in identifying virtual processes/RP capabilities to predict the impact of structural packaging changes on primary/secondary/tertiary pack functionality �Provide support to Artwork development manager in identifying and implementing up to date capabilities related to artwork evaluation (virtual RP + printing) Requirements �Good understanding of packaging terminology �Consolidated background in all repro/validation processes for artworks and colour management �Knowledge of various packaging materials and formats �Ideally 1-2 years in Artwork (and possibly Packaging) validation roles across the business �Good communication and task-time management skills Additional (not mandatory) skills �Understanding of packaging drawings and how packaging is measured e.g. Board thickness, bottle measurements etc �Familiarity with all relevant transportation/utilisation/manufacturing evaluation processes related to structural packaging
