THE PERSON:
-You will have some experience working in either a Buying or Purchasing role
-You will ideally have experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment
-You must be able to meet deadlines and work in a pressurised and demanding environment
-Strong IT literacy skills are essential - particularly with Excel, Word and Outlook
-You will possess strong numeracy and analytical skills
-Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings will be a bonus
-You will be a strong team player, motivated, confident and keen to make a difference

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
You will support the Purchasing Manager to ensure that the purchasing strategy of the company is achieved. You will research alternative sources of both existing and new products & services. You will liaise with internal departments to gather specifications and secure appropriate samples for pre-production approval. You will raise, manage and expedite the process of RFQ's. You will be responsible for interpreting quotations and preparing analysis reports comparing costs, savings, paybacks. For new suppliers, gathering and filing information and managing the updating process within the requirements of the company quality management system. You will maintain a database on suppliers to include contact details, pricing, facilities etc. you will be assisting in the development of a supplier, product, currency and pricing matrix. You will be helping to resolve general supplier performance issues.
