My client is a high volume automotive manufacturer based in Hampshire who currently have a requirement for a European Tooling Buyer.

JOB PURPOSE

With engineering support, the main objectives of the role are to source, negotiate, purchase and agree contractual terms, for injection mould tooling

Applicants will require the following skills and experience:-

Educated to at least degree level.
Experience within a fast moving (ideally) automotive manufacturing environment.
Technical Tooling knowledge.
Strong Commercial and Engineering experience.
Project Management experience.
International business experience with previous European and Global Travel.
Strong Negotiation Skills
Management Skills
Highly Organised
Effective interpersonal and written communication skills

Your main duties and responsibilities will include:-

Assume control in Europe for all aspects of commercial negotiations for new/replacement tooling, both in house and supplier based.
To develop trust and strong relationships with our suppliers.
Achieve best cost leverage for EU tooling group.
Provide competitive quotations for the company (in house) and purchased parts.
Provide detailed reports on cost and delivery targets.
Liaise with the companies’ global resources ensuring the best solutions for growth and profitability are achieved.
Promote early supplier input into design from tooling/manufacturing point.
Set up and maintenance of a tooling register (with the aid of other departments).
Representing the Company, as required, and maintaining a sound and credible working relationship with suppliers and departments of the Company.
Support the adherence to the European tooling standards.

Any other duties as may be reasonably requested by the Purchasing Director Europe.
