Senior Buyer

Our client are a well-regarded manufacturing company. They now have an opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join their team in South Aberdeen.

Main Responsibilities will include:

Procuring raw material for timely manufacture of Products;
Proposing and implementing purchasing solutions;
Ensuring material expedited in accordance with plan;
Obtaining quotes and continuing to negotiate prices as appropriate;
Management of inventory;
Actively managing vendor/sub contractor performance;
Planning, monitoring and driving inventory turn improvements;
Chairing production forecast meetings and ensuring accurate schedule against sales forecast;
Carrying out performance and quality audits on suppliers in line with company quality/ ethical procedures;
Staff development and appraisals;
Timely stock reconciliation reporting;
Performance Measure;
Outputs/measures of success in the job. The ideal candidate will be:

Knowledge of all aspects of material management including sourcing, negotiation and supplier management;
Good negotiation and persuasion skills. Ability to convince others and influence outcome;
Be capable of building strong relationships both internally and externally at all levels with suppliers;
Competent with analytical modelling tools (Microsoft Excel, Access, etc);
Able to read and interpret engineering drawings;
Process oriented, customer service driven, problem solver;
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
