Assistant Purchasing Manager

Assistant Purchasing Manager is required for large Aerospace and Avionics manufacturer.

The Assistant Purchasing Manager must be degree educated with extensive experience of using MRP I & MRP II systems

Candidates are currently likely to be an Assistant Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer or Assistant Procurement Manager

The Role:
The Assistant Purchasing Manager will be responsible for all Indirect Procurement and interface with Group Procurement for Group negotiated deals.
Assist the Purchasing Manager in the formulation and maintenance of purchasing processes
Support the Buyers with resolution of shortages impacting Sales output.
Manage and drive day-to-day HR issues, including recruitment, PDR’s, generating and maintaining high morale, staff development and succession plans

Requirements:
MUST have Senior Buyer or Senior Purchasing experience
MUST be degree educated and CIPS qualified OR willing to be CIPS trained.
Extensive experience of using MRP I & MRPII systems and how to optimize the systems to suit differing business models
Experience of the Avionics, Defence, or Electronics/Electromechanical industries
Broad experience in Procurement in a variety of commodities
Experience managing a small team and developing staff is desirable
Good supply chain knowledge
