MERCHANDISER - FASHION
Merchandise Manager
As Merchandise Manager you will be responsible for the development, management and achievement of all aspects of the division's merchandising strategy.
Key activities will include:
Work with Buying and Merchandising Director and Buying Manager to develop category strategy to maximise performance of business in line with corporate objectives
Formulate sales stock and margin objectives in line with the Buying Plans and the company's overall Business Plan
Develop, implement and control the OTB and ensure that accurate sales, stock and profit margin forecasts are set and achieved
Planning implementation and monitoring of supplier stock delivery schedules
Management of a stock allocation procedure to ensure that the right stock is available to the right store at the right time
Liaise with the Distribution Controller to ensure that new stock is despatched in line with agreed schedules
Analysis of merchandising reports and sales / stock statistics to ensure appropriate action is taken regarding repeat orders, cancellations, substitute style ordering
Supply reviews of supplier performance
Participation in buying and merchandising range reviews to the Trading Management Group, key personnel in Distribution, Customer Services and Operations.
Key Attributes
Previous experience within merchandising - ESSENTIAL
A detailed understanding of merchandising procedures and stock allocation management
A close affinity with product and the commercial marketplace
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Highly motivated, with the ability to deliver in a pressurised environment
Strong team-working skills with the ability to work with others across the retail business
Experience of managing pressure associated with a high profile role
Free to travel and possibly relocate later in career
Self motivated to meet objectives and achieve results
Willingness to accept responsibility
Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in multi-cultural situations
Flexible attitude to work hour
Positive attitude to unexpected and difficult situations
Demonstrates resilience
