Buyer - £27,000 + Benefits
Reporting to the Buying Controller, the Purchasing Manager / Buyer will be responsible for managing and developing specific product categories within the company range. You will negotiate terms with suppliers focussing on price, quality, order quantities, and lead times. The Purchasing Manager / Buyer will create supply chain agreements, monitor market costing, report on category and product performance and development and build and sustain partnership relationships with UK and global suppliers.
Our client, based in Bristol, is a long established, successful and growing organisation selling catering supplies to restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs, hotels, professional chefs, caterers and commercial kitchens.
The successful Purchasing Manager / Buyer will have previous purchasing / buying experience in a FMCG or similar environment. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, computer and IT literate (Microsoft Office - Word / Excel / PowerPoint) with strong administration & organisational skills. The Purchasing Manager / Buyer will have demonstrable experience of negotiating commercially with supply chain organisations to deliver competitive advantage through range strategy, product selection and best source identification.
Your application would be further supported by knowledge of the catering supplies and product industry, although this is by no means essential.
