Scope of role
To be responsible for the planning and ongoing delivery and maintenance of the company's websites and digital marketing activity, in order to gain profitable competitive advantage, maximise customer acquisition and retention, as well as reduce staff attrition. Ensure professional support for all members of the team to deliver the highest possible standards through all aspects of work.
Key Accountabilities
• On-going development of website and internal online communications including site architecture, web usability, visual and messaging hierarchy, copy and imagery
• Develop plans that grow the visibility of company websites drawing on digital campaigns, display advertising, SEO, PPC, affiliates, social media, online PR, email marketing and CRM
• Monitor the success and impact of all activity via site analytics, reports and other tools as appropriate, to demonstrate the ROI and report regularly to key stakeholders
• Carry out business case appraisals for all proposed enhancements to the web and internal social media sites
• Manage and direct external agencies to achieve marketing objectives
• Work closely with IT department to meet business standards on security
• Manage commercial relationship with any external agency to monitor new developments and ensure value for money
• Provide insight into competitor performance and new market opportunities through appropriate online tools
• Prepare and present top level plans for senior Management
• Agree and set standards for web design and development
• Manage, mentor and pro-actively coach a team of marketing professionals to achieve consistent results and engaging initiatives
• Assist in setting individual and team targets
• Generate enthusiastic support for the goals of each team member by using energy and expertise to influence the team effectively and positively
• Schedule regular team meetings to keep team up to date with performance and business objectives and undertake timely one to ones to ensure individual targets are met and raise any concerns with line manager
• Support wider marketing team with other non-Online Marketing duties as and when required
• Work and perform in-line with business best practice
• Manage the absence, holiday, sickness and extra planned attendance calendars
Skills and abilities
• A good general education, ideally to degree level, in a Marketing or Business discipline
• A strong background in online marketing with proven track record of delivering superb and measurable commercial results
• CIM qualified or working towards the qualification
• Technical and creative knowledge of web design and development, with a passion for the latest web technologies and practices
• Project Management
• Comprehensive knowledge and practice of usability and accessibility standards
• Commercial awareness
• High levels of problem solving with use of initiative to suggest and implement quick wins as well as longer term gains
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
