Product Marketing Manager
A key member of the Product Management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for product portfolios and marketing activity across a number of business units. You will also be responsible for developing a number of new transactional websites from evaluation to launch and will work closely with our internal web design team to ensure these are launched to agreed schedules and budgets. The role will expose you to a broad range of product areas and you will need to be able to identify patterns and trends to ensure that your business units deliver sales and profitability in line with budgeted targets. The successful candidate will also meet regularly with suppliers, contribute to marketing plans and initiatives, react to competitors, and create high quality merchandising that sells.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
•Manage new and existing product ranges in line with growth targets and margin expectations
•Thoroughly monitor product sales, market trends and competitors
•Regularly present coherent proposals for new product development and management of existing product ranges resulting from analysis
•Regularly review the performance of existing product ranges in relation to marketing spend
•Ensure product modules are correctly merchandised within marketing material in order to maximise sales
•Locate, liaise and meet with new and existing product suppliers to ensure their offerings meet expected margin, cost and MOQ levels
•Attend trade shows in order to contribute new product ideas
•Provide the internal design teams with creative briefs, copy and images to produce high impact marketing material
•Contribute to marketing proposals and ideas outside of the mailing plan
•Ensure branding and continuity of presentation across all marketing material
•Contribute to development of new group websites by becoming actively involved in building and populating with product
Other Duties:
•Maintain exceptional levels of communication with the Sales and Operations Teams to ensure they are fully briefed on new product launches, product details and associated marketing material
•Work closely with the Purchasing team to facilitate Supply Chain Management
•Assist with the creation and maintenance of web and stock holding databases
•Liaise closely with the Online Marketing Executive to ensure maximum ROI from online advertising
•Deliver creative briefs in line with the Group’s Eshot plan
•Maintain products on the group’s central stock system
Skills and Abilities:
•A team player with a committed, positive and proactive approach to work
•Conscientious, enthusiastic and keen to learn quickly
•Able to work to instruction and process but also independently contribute new ideas
•Commercial awareness – Able to monitor business performance through analysis of KPIs and make sound commercial decisions based on analysis
•Excellent verbal communication skills
•Excellent writing skills – Translate thoughts and product attributes into copy that sells
•Exceptional attention to detail and continuity of product offerings
•Competent user of MS Office and, in particular, Excel
•Able to manage time and work independently to meet deadlines
