Justin Tilbury Recruitment is currently working alongside one of the UK`s fastest growing Financial Services companies. They are currently recruiting a Category / Product Manager to join their Retirement solutions team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Key Responsibilities:
- To be responsible for the design, promotion and ongoing management of products and services in the Retirement category
- To support the development and implementation of new Retirement initiatives
- Monitor and analyse the competitive environment to ensure that the pricing and incentives remain appropriate to the specific market
- Maintain a detailed understanding of the company`s competitive position; where appropriate propose pricing changes aimed at ensuring business plans are achieved
- Provide ongoing sale performance forecasts across all channels to enable the business to monitor progress or otherwise towards planned objectives
- Maximise VNB (value of new business) by working closely with Sales, Finance/Actuarial and Operations
- To ensure that target customers are understood and that product features, benefits and position in retirement market are promoted and understood internally and externally
- Act as Retirement products champion in all areas

Accountabilities:
- Through a thorough understanding of the relative positioning of the company`s full product offering, maintain a market leading proposition
- Maintaining an up to date deep knowledge of the industry sector, the market environment and competitors
- Propose and manage changes to ensure continuing compliance with regulations and legislation
- Maintain a portfolio of Retirement products and services
- Active support of customer focused marketing, and sales strategies
- Maintain excellent working relationships with all members of the Category Management team, External Affairs, IFA Sales, Distribution, Pricing and Operations to maintain competitive features and consider improvements
- Develop and effectively implement promotional campaigns and mechanisms in conjunction with the Marketing team
- Development and creation of strategies to support products, customer trends and development opportunities
- Input to all planning and forecasting exercises relating to the Category on a rolling strategic outlook basis and an annual budget/reforecasting basis
- Support the delivery of sales and VNB objectives in conjunction with Sales Management, Finance, Actuarial and Operations teams

Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Experience required:
- Experience of working in a high quality marketing or product / category specialist environment where sales and margin development has been a key focus
- Appropriate knowledge and experience of working in the retirement market and more specifically equity release
- Pro-actively use advance level of specialist knowledge to support management of the business
- Fully aware of current and evolving business issues and able to see the relevance to own business
- Prepared to actively contribute to the development of the Company and its products
- Maintains positive outlook when under pressure
- Takes responsibility for all Category issues and matters arising
- Ability to work under pressure, in a fast moving environment, to tight deadlines
- Excellent analytical skills
- Good communication skills both internally and externally
- Ability to negotiate internally and externally
- Sound experience/understanding of all distribution channels
- Creative ability in areas of product and marketing
- High level of compliance awareness
- Good presentation skills
