Position: Shared Housing Assistant
Hours: Part time
Contract: Fixed term 13 month contract
Location: Abingdon
Salary: Full time equivalent salary £18,648, pro rata to £16,884 per annum

ROLE:
The aim of the Housing Needs team is to ensure that people in housing need have access to the housing and support necessary to meet their needs.
The Housing Assistant will play an active role in meeting these aims, and in the provision of an efficient and effective housing service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
a) Assisting in processing housing applications and maintaining the Housing Register.
b) Ensuring that accurate and appropriate records are kept using both computer and manual systems, ensuring that confidentiality and data protection are observed.
c) Assisting in the preparation and presentation of statistics, reports and other documentation as required.
d) To take part in the front-of-house duty rota and therefore deal with customers enquiries face-to-face.
e) Developing and maintaining good working relationships with colleagues within the Section and with external agencies as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS / EXPERIENCE:
a) 3 GCSE’s at grades A-C, or equivalent level of qualifications, or relevant experience.
b) Ability to use IT systems
c) Good interpersonal and written communications skills
d) Experience of dealing with telephone enquiries and face to face enquiries from the public
e) Demonstrate experience keeping accurate records
Please note that this position will need to cover a rota; at least once a week the post holder will need to cover the office from 8:30 until 17:00.
