DEPUTY MANAGER required for a Family Assessment Centre in Reading, Berkshire.

Our client, a Family Support & Assessment Unit provides supported residential accommodation in which children can live with their families while parenting skills are developed and assessed.

The project is able to offer services to the following groups:

• Families referred for independent residential assessment whose
children may be at risk.

• Families who need longer-term residential support in learning and
developing parenting skills.

• Young parents under the age of 16.

• Families who will benefit from non-residential support within the
community.

Duties -

To support the Registered Manager in all day to day activities required to so ensure the smooth running of the Service.

To ensure that services are delivered to a consistently high standard and in regard to all aspects of anti discriminatory practices.

To support the Registered Manager in the delivery of effective management, support and supervision of staff.

Requirements-

Diploma in Social Work or equivalent with a minimum of 3yrs post qualified experience of working with Families and children

Working knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and 2004, Framework of Assessment 2000, Every Child Matters agenda

Experience in liaising with service users and families / advocates.

Minimum 2yrs experience at a Snr or Supervisory position essential.
