The Role:

Currently looking to recruit a Freelance Internal Verifier for approximately 2 to 3 days per month to verify 25 to 35 learner portfolios. Current learners are studying the Level 1 Award in Preparing to work in Adult Social Care with a view to progress onto the Diploma level 2 and 3 in Health & Social Care.

Responsible to the performance Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating, supporting, developing and delivering quality internal verification programmes.

To develop, deliver interventions/activities to support successful achievement of courses for learners and contractors in order to achieve required targets.

• Achieve agreed Learner Achievement targets.
• Provide pro-active internal verification support including; supporting Assessors with assessment guidance, Subject specific guidance and support, Marking of assignments/verification of work, Liaison and support of other Internal Verifiers.
• To provide a robust management scheme including; Management Information Systems, Oversight of learner registrations, Support with assessment records, Monitoring and improvement of learner retention and timeliness achievement, Learner satisfaction rate.
• Manage internal verification activity detailing; Interim and final IV of learners, Sample selection and its rationale, Internal Verifier standardisation meetings, Assessor support meetings, Assessor competence and monitoring of assessor progress/or delivery towards achievement of required qualifications, Learner satisfaction rates, Awarding Body relationship(s).
• Key Performance Indicators are: 90% achievement rate, Right first time administration in line with agreed processes, Delivery of quality assessment, IAG, training & support to Ofsted Grade 1 standards that engages, enthuses and adds value to customers, Ensure all portfolios are audited at the 40%, 80% and 100% stages, Zero Awarding Body sanctions and 100% achievement of presented qualifications.
• Effective liaison with other departments
• Manage, administer and track candidate activities and progress in line with quality and contractual criteria
• Actively promote the company and its services.
• Effective Quality Management & Improvement.
• Meet, and where possible exceed, required quality standards in relation to role, including Audit requirements.
• Actively contribute to: Self Assessment Reports, Ofsted inspections.
• Development, use, evaluation and continuous improvement of Quality System in partnership with all departments and in compliance with company policies (including Equal Opportunities) and contracting bodies.
• Develop & promote equality of opportunity, both in word and action, in line with the Company’s values, policies and procedures.
• Contribute to own and team performance through proper absence and attendance management, Constructive and participative teamwork.
• Liaison with Line Manager and others in the continuous development of the organisation.
• Liaison and co-ordination with all internal departments, via line/Senior Managers, to support and develop as appropriate.
• Liaison and co-ordination with external organisations including Awarding Bodies.
• Take responsibility for own self development in line with the organisational operations and strategic objectives.
• Any other duties as defined by line Manager.

The Individual:

• Internal Verification of Level 1, 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care.
• Training & Development to a minimum NVQ 3 or equivalent.
• Presentation skills to a high standard.
• Subject competence appropriate to role.
• Industrial experience appropriate to the role.
• Comprehensive knowledge of NVQ Code of Practice.
• Comprehensive knowledge of JAB Guidelines.
• Ability to work accurately to tight timescales through effective planning.
• Communicate to a high standard.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Business Use of IT.
• Well organised.
• Manage and motivate candidates and staff.
• Relevant to subject being taught.
• V1.
• A1 or D32 and D33.
• Level 3/4 qualification.
• Self motivated.
• Reliable.
• Flexible & adaptable.
• High level of accuracy.
• Willingness to assist.
• Ability to communicate well at all levels.
• Willing to work unsociable hours or weekends.
