Fitter
Location: Shepperton
Hours: Monday to Friday - 40 hours
Salary: £28,500 - £31,200 per annum
We’re looking for a skilled Fitter to join our manufacturing team. You’ll be responsible for assembling mechanical machines and components using a variety of hand, electric, and air-driven tools. This is a hands-on role requiring precision, teamwork, and a strong understanding of engineering drawings.
Key Responsibilities of the Fitter- Assemble machines and subassemblies to specification
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings
- Align and position components manually or using hoists
- Conduct quality checks and complete documentation
- Collaborate with design engineers to resolve build issues
- Support other departments when needed
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Be available for occasional evening/weekend work
- Proven experience in mechanical assembly
- Basic fabrication skills (drilling, grinding, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive and flexible approach to work
