Infrastructure Architect

£650 - £700 p/d Inside IR35

Role Purpose:

The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for designing and governing the Agency IT infrastructure estate. The post holder will work with multiple teams on projects and problems that require broad architectural thinking.

You will develop strategic and tactical engineering roadmaps for technologies and services in your area of responsibility, making sure that they are future-proofed, and that the organisation derives maximum value from its investment in technologies.

You will maintain relationships with relevant suppliers, making sure services and products are delivered and aligned to industry best practice and regulatory and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Experienced Microsoft-focused Infrastructure Architect with strong on-premises expertise.
• Lead the technical design of systems and services, and justify and communicate design decisions to others
• Infrastructure and Networking (Cloud and On-Prem; key vendor is HPe)
• Device Management and Security (Intune)
• Assure other services and system quality, making sure the technical work fits into the broader strategy for the agency
• Explore the benefits of cross-government alignment
• Provide mentoring within teams and provide leadership to other architects
• Develop effective implementation and procurement strategies, consistent with business needs while ensuring adherence to relevant technical strategies, policies, Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and practices
• Work with technical team members to translate the architectural designs into operation-ready state through service introduction
• Provide technical guidance and as needed hands-on service to Delivery Teams and Operations Team
