Production Shift Manager (Shadsworth Business Park)

Rotating 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm and 10pm - 6am

Salary £51,000 per annum

Our Blackburn based manufacturing client are currently hiring for an experienced Shift Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.

The Shift Manager is responsible for coordinating operational resources (machines, materials, people and out of hours engineering) in order to achieve planned/ targets for production output, product quality, BRC requirements, environment and health & safety.

Role responsibilities

  • Accident and incident investigations, being a proactive leader of behavioural safety
  • Liaise with Quality departments in relation to complains / internal issues.
  • Ensure staff understand importance of cost of quality and hygiene
  • Provide leadership to the shift team/supervisors, appropriate deployment of resources in accordance with production priorities
  • Complete 1:1's, appraisals and team meetings in a timely manner
  • Day to day responsibility for the welfare of all shop floor personnel
  • Attendance management, completing return to work documents, disciplinary and grievance hearings
  • Delivery of the production plan in a timely manner

Skills and experience

  • Experience of leading a production team, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Be able to identify and resolve basic machine related problems.
  • Demonstrate being H&S competent in a safe working environment.
  • Certificate in leadership management or previous engineering background - desirable
  • IOSH or NEBOSH trained - desirable
