Production Shift Manager (Shadsworth Business Park)
Rotating 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm and 10pm - 6am
Salary £51,000 per annum
Our Blackburn based manufacturing client are currently hiring for an experienced Shift Manager to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.
The Shift Manager is responsible for coordinating operational resources (machines, materials, people and out of hours engineering) in order to achieve planned/ targets for production output, product quality, BRC requirements, environment and health & safety.
Role responsibilities
- Accident and incident investigations, being a proactive leader of behavioural safety
- Liaise with Quality departments in relation to complains / internal issues.
- Ensure staff understand importance of cost of quality and hygiene
- Provide leadership to the shift team/supervisors, appropriate deployment of resources in accordance with production priorities
- Complete 1:1's, appraisals and team meetings in a timely manner
- Day to day responsibility for the welfare of all shop floor personnel
- Attendance management, completing return to work documents, disciplinary and grievance hearings
- Delivery of the production plan in a timely manner
Skills and experience
- Experience of leading a production team, ideally within manufacturing.
- Be able to identify and resolve basic machine related problems.
- Demonstrate being H&S competent in a safe working environment.
- Certificate in leadership management or previous engineering background - desirable
- IOSH or NEBOSH trained - desirable
