Location: UK or Ireland (regular travel required)
Type: Full-time | Initial 3–6 month contract with potential to become permanent
£650-£700pd + Dependent on experience (Outside IR35)

A technology organisation in the public sector space is looking for a Chief Architect to define and lead its end-to-end platform architecture. You’ll set technical direction, ensure systems are secure and scalable, and align architecture with business and product strategy.

A technology organisation in the public sector space is looking for a Chief Architect to define and lead its end-to-end platform architecture. You’ll set technical direction, ensure systems are secure and scalable, and align architecture with business and product strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own enterprise architecture strategy and standards
- Lead design reviews and govern architectural decisions
- Ensure scalable, resilient, and secure system design
- Drive cloud-native, microservices, API, and data architecture adoption
- Maintain platform consistency across regions and teams
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and senior stakeholders
- Mentor engineers and promote best practices
- 10+ years in software engineering, including senior architecture roles
- Strong experience with distributed, cloud-native systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Expertise in microservices, event-driven architecture, APIs, and data platforms
- Solid understanding of security architecture (e.g. zero-trust)
- Experience in public sector or regulated environments (desirable)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Travel to Ireland 2–3 times per month
- High focus on information security and data protection
