Assistant Engineering Manager
Location: Drogheda, Co. Louth
Salary: €45,000 - €65,000 + benefits
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting for an Assistant Engineering Manager to join a major heavy manufacturing site near Drogheda.

This is a senior maintenance leadership role, responsible for managing day-to-day engineering operations, maximising plant availability, leading maintenance teams and supporting major shutdowns, overhauls and engineering projects.

The Role:

• Manage mechanical and electrical maintenance teams, including supervisors, planners and tradespeople
• Lead safe working practices and drive continuous improvement across site maintenance operations
• Plan and support preventative and predictive maintenance activity
• Manage maintenance-related projects from design through to installation
• Oversee contractors, plant hire resources and associated costs
• Support the planning and delivery of major shutdowns and plant overhauls
• Work closely with production, operations, safety and senior management teams
• Deputise for the Engineering Manager when required

About You:

• Level 8 or 9 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Minimum 5 years' experience in engineering, maintenance or plant leadership
• Background in heavy industry, manufacturing, cement, aggregates, quarrying, chemicals, power, or similar environments
• Strong leadership, technical and people management skills
• Experience managing costs, contractors and engineering projects
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office

Package:

• €45,000 - €65,000 salary
