Senior Management Accountant – Exeter

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Management Accountant to join a well-established and rapidly growing South West business. This is a senior finance position supporting the production of management accounts across multiple entities, offering genuine long-term progression opportunities within a successful and forward-thinking organisation.

This role offers significant career development and progression, with a clear pathway into a Financial Controller position for the right individual as the business continues to grow.

This opportunity would suit a commercially minded finance professional with strong management accounting experience, ideally within a multi-site or fast-paced commercial environment, who is looking to take the next step in their career.

What You’ll Be Doing

✔ Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts across multiple entities
✔ Carrying out balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
✔ Assisting with financial reporting requirements and audit preparation
✔ Supporting continuous improvement of finance systems and processes
✔ Providing support and cover for the Finance Manager where required
✔ Maintaining accurate accounting and management information systems
✔ Building strong working relationships across the wider business
✔ Supporting professional development and best practice within the finance team
✔ Liaising with external stakeholders including suppliers, professional bodies and auditors

What We’re Looking For

💡 Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA ideally) or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
💡 Strong commercial awareness with the ability to understand wider business operations
💡 Previous experience within a fast-paced commercial environment
💡 Advanced Excel and strong systems experience
💡 Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
💡 Ability to manage priorities and work effectively under pressure
💡 Strong communication and relationship-building skills
💡 Proactive, organised and detail-oriented approach
💡 Ambition and desire to progress
