Support Worker (Mental Health)
Location: Okehampton, EX20
Type: Temp to Perm – Full Time
Hourly Rate: £12.71
About the Role:
We’re looking for a compassionate Support Worker to provide person-centred care for individuals with mental health conditions. You’ll help service users build confidence, independence, and resilience while working as part of a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily living, emotional wellbeing, and coping strategies
- Mentor colleagues and support team development
- Work with individuals, families, and professionals collaboratively
- Ensure a safe environment and advocate for service users
- Maintain accurate records and support audits
Requirements:
- Experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Full driving licence with business insurance, willing to drive a minibus
- Flexible and able to cover on-call duties
Desirable:
- Knowledge of recovery models and support planning
- Experience in crisis management and de-escalation
- Person-centred and compassionate approach
