Quantity Surveyor – Shopfitting & Interior Fit-Out

About the Role

A1 Jobs are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in shopfitting, interior fit-out, and retail refurbishment projects to join our clients growing team operating across Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded QS who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has experience managing multiple fit-out projects from pre-construction through to final account.

You will work closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are delivered profitably, efficiently, and to the highest standards

Key Responsibilities

• Managing project costs from tender stage through to final account
• Preparing valuations, variations, and cost reports
• Procuring subcontractors and negotiating packages
• Monitoring project budgets and identifying commercial risks
• Reviewing and administering subcontractor payments
• Preparing and submitting interim applications for payment
• Supporting project delivery teams with commercial advice
• Managing change control procedures and contract administration
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Ensuring projects achieve commercial targets and margins

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within shopfitting, retail fit-out, or interior refurbishment
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes
• Experience managing fast-track fit-out projects
• Excellent understanding of subcontract procurement and cost control
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems
• Full UK driving licence
• Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management preferred

Desirable Experience

• Experience working on retail, hospitality, leisure, or commercial interiors
• Knowledge of JCT contracts
• Experience working with national retail clients
• Familiarity with site-based project environments across Scotland
