Behaviour Mentor (Male) - South East London
Full-Time | Long-Term | Immediate Start
£100 - £117 per day

We are working with a number of specialist schools across South East London who are seeking a confident, empathetic and resilient Male Behaviour Mentor to join their teams immediately.

This is a highly rewarding role supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to regulate behaviour, build positive relationships with adults, and develop strategies to manage their emotions and behaviour more effectively.

A sports background is highly desirable for this role, as many students respond positively to structured, active, and team-based approaches that help build trust, discipline and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for students with SEMH and behavioural needs
  • Support emotional regulation, resilience and positive behaviour choices
  • Use consistent behaviour strategies including de-escalation and restorative approaches
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams and external agencies
  • Help create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in behaviour support, youth work, mentoring, coaching or education
  • A background in sports, coaching or physical activity is strongly preferred
  • Calm, confident approach when managing challenging behaviour
  • Strong ability to build rapport with young people who may struggle with trust or authority
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practice and de-escalation strategies
  • Reliable, proactive and committed to supporting vulnerable learners

This is an excellent opportunity to join supportive specialist settings where staff make a real difference to students' behaviour, confidence and long-term outcomes.
