This opportunity sits within the MEICA and Capital Maintenance division, where specialist teams deliver complete end-to-end solutions including installation, upgrades, maintenance and ongoing operational support across critical infrastructure projects.

The Role

As an Electrical Tester, you’ll be responsible for carrying out electrical installation, testing, inspection and maintenance activities across commercial and industrial environments within the water and infrastructure sector.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting and working from electrical drawings, schematics and schedules
  • Carrying out testing and inspection of electrical systems to ensure safety and compliance
  • Diagnosing electrical faults and identifying root causes
  • Installing, assembling and maintaining electrical equipment and systems
  • Completing planned preventative and reactive maintenance works
  • Producing accurate digital certification and technical reports
  • Ordering and collecting materials and components required for works
  • Responding efficiently to breakdowns and fault-finding activities

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

  • Proven experience within electrical testing, maintenance and installation
  • NVQ Level 3 or a time-served electrical apprenticeship (or equivalent)
  • City & Guilds 2391 / 2394 & 2395 Testing and Inspection qualifications (or equivalent)
  • Experience working on commercial or industrial LV electrical systems
  • Strong understanding of health & safety regulations and safe systems of work
  • Experience completing electrical certification and reports digitally
  • A proactive approach with strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
