Quantity Surveyor

A growing general building contractor based in Bury is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team.

With an annual turnover of approximately £4 million and individual project values up to £600k, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering a varied portfolio of construction projects across the region.

The Role

You will be responsible for the commercial management of multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with the directors and operational teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing cost plans, valuations, and final accounts
  • Managing subcontractor procurement and payments
  • Cost reporting and budget control
  • Variations and contract administration
  • Supporting project delivery teams commercially
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Ensuring projects remain commercially viable and profitable

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor or general building environment
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience with projects up to £600k preferred
  • Self-motivated with a hands-on approach
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience considered

  • Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience
