Commissioning Engineer (m/w/d) - Grid Connection & Commissioning | BESS / PV

📍 Würzburg (with national travel 50-100%) | Full-time | Permanent

We are supporting a leading renewable energy business operating at the forefront of large-scale solar and battery storage deployment across Germany.

They are now looking to appoint a Commissioning Engineer to take ownership of grid connection and energisation activities across utility-scale PV and BESS projects.

You will play a key part in bringing large renewable energy assets into operation, working across the full commissioning lifecycle from pre-energisation through to final handover.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivery of commissioning and grid connection activities for PV and BESS projects
• Coordination of MV/LV systems, protection schemes and SCADA integration
• On-site supervision of electrical installation, testing and energisation works
• Liaison with grid operators, EPC contractors, OEMs and technical stakeholders
• Review and approval of technical documentation, including as-built and handover packs
• Ensuring safe, compliant and high-quality commissioning processes across sites
• Regular travel to project sites across Germany (50-100%)

• Electrical Engineering / Energy Engineering degree or equivalent (Techniker / Meister also considered)
• Strong background in electrical commissioning, grid connection or construction delivery
• Experience within PV and/or battery storage projects is highly advantageous
• Good understanding of MV/LV systems, protection technology and control systems
• SCADA or plant control experience is a plus
• Confident working with utilities, contractors and multidisciplinary teams
• Fluent German (C1+) and good English
• Hands-on, structured and solution-oriented approach
