Rate: £250 - £300 per day (Umbrella)
Location: Morden, South London
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 Days Office / 2 Days Home
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Climate Change Manager to join a forward-thinking local authority on an initial 3-month contract with strong potential for extension.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving climate action across the borough, leading strategic programmes, securing funding and managing a specialist climate team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of climate strategies, action plans and annual programmes
- Manage and motivate a specialist climate and sustainability team
- Act as the lead advisor on climate change matters to senior stakeholders and elected members
- Secure external funding and develop innovative financing solutions for climate initiatives
- Build strong partnerships with residents, businesses, community groups and external agencies
- Oversee climate, energy, retrofit and sustainability projects across the organisation
- Significant experience leading climate change, sustainability or net zero programmes
- Strong understanding of climate mitigation, adaptation and low-carbon initiatives
- Proven experience managing teams and delivering complex projects to deadline
- Demonstrable success securing grants, funding or investment opportunities
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
- Degree-level qualification in a relevant field or substantial equivalent experience
- £250 - £300 per day umbrella
