Award winning global logistics company based in Ipswich are expanding their team and are looking for an experienced Ocean Import Operator to handle shipments from start to finish.

We're not just moving containers around the globe—we're keeping international trade flowing while drinking impressive amounts of coffee and solving logistics puzzles.

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Ocean Imports Coordinator to join our growing freight forwarding team. If you enjoy managing shipments from start to finish, building strong customer relationships, and making sure containers don't mysteriously disappear into the logistics abyss, we'd love to hear from you.

You'll be joining a supportive team consisting of a supervisor and five experienced colleagues, all working together to ensure smooth and efficient ocean import operations.

Key Responsibilities

As part of our Ocean Imports team, you'll be responsible for:

* Managing FCL (Full Container Load) and LCL (Less than Container Load) import shipments from arrival to delivery

* Booking import shipments into our freight forwarding system

* Reviewing shipping documentation and ensuring compliance requirements are met

* Providing proactive customer updates via phone and email

* Preparing and processing customs declarations

* Coordinating deliveries with transport providers and suppliers

* Raising customer invoices and managing billing processes

* Checking and approving supplier invoices

* Providing proof of delivery documentation

* Preparing freight quotations and arranging new shipment bookings

* Delivering exceptional customer service throughout the shipment lifecycle

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience within freight forwarding, ocean imports, or international logistics

Experience managing key customer accounts

Strong knowledge of import operations, customs procedures, shipping documentation, and supply chain processes

Excellent communication skills with customers, suppliers, and internal teams

Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills

The ability to prioritise workloads and thrive in a fast-paced logistics environment
