We are a well-established Carrickfergus-based generator installation and maintenance provider, delivering essential power solutions across a wide range of sectors throughout Northern Ireland.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, we are looking for a skilled and motivated Diesel Generator Engineer to join our expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys varied field-based engineering work, problem-solving, and being part of a business that genuinely values technical expertise and progression.

Whether your background is in electrical engineering, heavy vehicle maintenance, diesel fitting, or similar disciplines, this role offers the chance to build specialist skills within the generator industry.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of diesel generator sets across Northern Ireland
  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on customer sites
  • Fault finding, diagnostics, testing, and remedial repairs on generator systems
  • Emergency call-out support on a rota basis
  • Planning spares and parts requirements for upcoming work
  • Load bank testing of generator systems (electrical focus)
  • Engine servicing and mechanical repairs (mechanical focus)
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards

What We're Looking For
Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation or equivalent (electrical route) or
  • NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent (mechanical route)
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong hands-on engineering and fault-finding experience

Desirable

  • Experience with diesel generator systems
  • Fault finding, commissioning, or diagnostics on generator sets
  • Knowledge of control panels and electrical systems
  • Experience with engines such as Perkins, Caterpillar, MTU, Volvo, Mitsubishi, or Cummins
  • Exposure to fuel systems, exhaust systems, or system modifications
