We are looking for a skilled and motivated Fundraiser to join our Team. To realise

this ambition and maintain a sustainable organisation, the annual fundraised income

£350,000 needs to be sustained.

Through this new organisational role, you will proactively create and grow

fundraising income, gain support from grant giving trusts and foundations as well as

corporate organisations across the region.

Through your fundraising expertise, you will have a proven track record of growing

income and building relationships with trusts, foundations, and corporate partners to

achieve and exceed annual income targets. You will have the capacity to develop

compelling funding proposals that successfully engage key partners and attract

donations.

To support the fundraising ambition and to celebrate successes, you will have an

active role in promoting, marketing, and advertising the Foodbank though various

media channels.

With your attention to detail and strong organisational skills, you will help us grow

income and strengthen partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

• You will develop and implement a fundraising strategy which aligns to the Foodbanks

core objectives.

• Through excellent, comprehensive, and considered research, you

will identify and prioritise a pool of potential grant giving trusts and foundations

funders for Blackburn Foodbank. You will forge relationships with those

funders, develop and submit timely and successful funding applications.• You will manage the ongoing relationships with grant giving trusts and

foundations funders and do all you can to maximise potential for further funding by

ensuring they receive excellent stewardship and timely reporting

• You will proactively identify, engage, and build good relationships with prospective

corporate donors, successfully securing them as funding partners. Alongside

this you’ll deepen engagement and grow our relationships and partnerships with

existing corporate donors.

• Working with colleagues in the Foodbank, you’ll develop authentic,

compelling, creative, and winning funding and partnership proposals that can

successfully engage grant giving trusts, foundations and corporate partners and that

can successfully align our vision and work with their needs, motivations, areas of

interests and values.

• You will work collaboratively with other Trussell food banks across the northwest

region, identifying and progressing opportunities for joint funding proposals

and partnerships.

• You will develop, monitor, and manage a fundraising portfolio capable of

generating in excess of £350,000 per annum. You will build and establish a

fundraising pipeline, including a range of KPI’s that can be tracked and that will

enable you to make informed projections regarding future income. You will report

progress to the Trustees on a quarterly basis.

• You will forge strong relationships with colleagues across the wider Trussell network,

sharing best practice and learning from other charities across the network. You

will proactively take advantage of any fundraising training and skills development

opportunities and engage with any joint fundraising opportunities.

• You will proactively identify and engage with media opportunities to

promote, market, and advertise the Foodbank, it’s services and its successes.

• You will ensure a database of funders and grant applications is created and

maintained.

Skills

• You will have good, established experience of trusts and foundations fundraising as

well as corporate partnerships fundraising.

• With excellent written and verbal communication and relationship management skills,

you will be able to inspire and motivate new and existing funders.

• You will have experience of setting, managing and reporting against fundraising

targets.

• You will be tenacious and able to embrace, develop and shape a new role. You’ll be

well organised, proactive, and a self-starter who is able to self-motivate.

• You will be able to demonstrate empathy for people from disadvantaged,

marginalised or socially excluded backgrounds

• You will have understanding and knowledge of the workings of all types of media and

the ability to use these for fundraising purposes.

• You will be a strong team player.
