Groundworks Supervisor
Location: Witham, Essex
Job Type: Temporary (8 Weeks Initially – Potential for Extension)
Start Date: Immediate Start Available
Rate: £240 - £260 per day 

ARC are currently recruiting for an experienced Groundworks Supervisor to join a busy civil engineering and groundworks project based in Witham, Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on supervisor who is comfortable managing site teams, coordinating daily activities, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.

The initial contract is expected to run for approximately 8 weeks, with the possibility of longer-term work for the right candidate.

• Supervising groundworks operatives and subcontractors on site
• Setting out and checking levels, measurements and dimensions
• Coordinating daily site activities and ensuring works are completed to programme
• Ordering materials and arranging deliveries to site
• Monitoring labour resources and recording staff hours
• Conducting site inspections and maintaining high health and safety standards
• Liaising with site management, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors
• Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings and specifications
• Completing site paperwork, records and progress reports as required
• Assisting with planning upcoming works and identifying potential issues before they impact programme

• Valid SSSTS certificate (Essential)
• Previous experience supervising groundworks or civil engineering projects
• Strong understanding of levels, measurements and site setting out
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Good organisational and communication skills
• Experience managing labour, materials and site resources
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred
• CSCS Card
