HRGO are seeking cleaners for our client in St Helens with immediate start!
Job Title: Cleaner
Hours: 2pm - 10pm or 10pm - 6am working 5 days out of 7
Can include weekend work
Pay: £16.50 per hour, weekly pay
Location: St Helens
This is a temporary role removing frozen ice in a distribution freezer chamber. This will be a short term assignment for cleaners to join our client for a project in the St Helens area. We are looking for people with immediate availability!
Responsibilities and skills:
- Safely removing ice accumulation from freezer walls, floors, doors, and equipment.
- Following cold-environment safety procedures, using PPE, and preventing slips, trips, and falls.
- Operating scrapers, brushes, cleaning machines, and approved de-icing tools.
- Identifying ice buildup, blocked drains, or potential hazards before they cause problems.
- Moving equipment and materials safely while working in confined or cold spaces.
- Completing cleaning tasks efficiently to minimise disruption to warehouse operations.
- Working in low-temperature environments for extended periods.
- Coordinating with warehouse staff, supervisors, and maintenance teams.
- Cleaning around refrigeration units without causing damage and reporting faults when found.
- Maintaining cleanliness standards required for food, retail, or logistics operations
Job Duties:
- Assisting with the safe removal of ice buildup from freezer floors, walls, doors, and storage areas.
- Using approved tools and equipment to remove ice without damaging refrigeration systems or facilities.
- Maintaining safe walkways and work areas to reduce slip hazards.
- Following health and safety procedures when working in low-temperature environments.
- Wearing and maintaining appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Supporting freezer cleaning and defrosting operations.
- Removing ice and debris and disposing of waste according to site procedures.
- Conducting routine inspections to identify excessive ice accumulation and potential hazards.
